Welcome to the Feature & Follow
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
We pick our featured blogs randomly each week from the blogs who participated the week before.
Please be sure to feature your e-mail address clearly on your blog. Either on the main blog, on a Contact page, or on an About Me page. If I can't find your email easily, I will choose a different blog to feature.
Our Feature - Worn Down Glories
1. When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in the summer of 2012 but stopped for awhile to really figure out if I wanted to continue to or not. I blogged off and on in 2013 and relaunched my blog in August of 2013 with plans to make 2014 the year I continue to blog and have fun with it no matter what is going on in my life.
2. What is your favorite part of book blogging?
It's a tie between making new friends and discovering so many amazing books to read. Everyone has welcomed me with open arms and has been so kind. The amount of books I've discovered in my short time of blogging has been beyond amazing and so many of these have touched me. I can't wait to see what books 2014 brings.
3. What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I mainly blog about YA but there are a couple NA books that I've blogged about that I have fallen for after discovering them.
4. What are your favorite books?
The Hunger Games trilogy has to be at the top of my list. This series truly pulled me back into reading. I read the entire trilogy in under four days and since then I haven't stopped reading. I was drawn to the characters, touched by their struggles and found myself wondering why I had stopped reading. I haven't put books down since I read the trilogy and I am so thankful I read them. The trilogy also cemented a very important friendship in my life that has since become more and I am so thankful for that. We really bonded over the series and brought us to where we are today.
5. What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Healing. I've gone through some real tough times growing up and being able to find and connect to books has really helped me heal in a lot of ways. I've been able to confront situations I've faced and work through them. It hasn't been easy, but it's been so rewarding. I would have never expected it to happen through something like book blogging, but I am so thankful it did.
Question of the Week: Who is your blogger BFF? Tell us a little bit about him or her? If not tell us why you need or don’t need a blogger BFF.
I don't have just one Blogger BFF. I have several:
Parajunkee, of course. My fearless #FF partner
Supernatural Snark - Jenny
Bookswarm - Mary
Bewitched Bookworms - Danny, Pushy, and Heather
I Swim For Oceans - Melissa
and several others.
Me and Rachel from Parajunkee. |
Danny from Bewitched Bookworms, me, Mary from Bookswarm, and Pushy from Bewitched Bookworms out for a farewell dinner and drinks Saturday night. |
Now for the Follow Fun!
With GFC going the way of the dodo bird for many bloggers, there is no better time to start following blogs via RSS feed. If you use a reader, it would be great if you followed my RSS directly. We have a new button, so update your blogs if you are used to doing this meme!

- Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
- Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
- If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
- Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"

Hi Alison! Happy Friday and my blogger BFF is Chayse. he and I read the same the books and always feel the same. It's rare that we disagree on a story. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHey! You haven't seen me around mostly b/c I had been a bit absent in 2013. Wanna restart up my blog again. I was really busy and had a lot going on in 2013. But hope to liven things back up. Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteMystifying Paranormal Reviews
It makes me even more excited to attend BEA this year. Can't wait! Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you've met some of your blogger bffs in real life. I wish mine lived closer! Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteDenise @ Dandelionn Wine Book Blog
I'm glad I wasn't the only one to pick more than one! But I have been blogging for 4 years and I try to be very social, even if it's just within my circle of friends.
ReplyDeleteAs for the 24 Hour Readathon question you posed- no, you don't have to do all 24 hours! Most people don't, and I'm just too old to stay up all night on purpose. I always crash, so now I just take naps and don't worry about what I miss. ;)
I think I got my question crossed. Sorry bout that! But that is amazing that you actually got to meet your bookish blogger friends. I have some close friends on goodreads. But they live in different countries.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Have a great week! =)
ReplyDeleteFollowing you on Bloglovin. Can you please return the favour? =)
