Questions of the Week:

Blog Hop:

Follow Friday: Keeping with the dystopian and apocalypse theme that seems to be running rampant on parajunkee.com, I have one very hard question for you: If you were stocking your bomb shelter, what books would you HAVE to include if you only had space for ten?

That's a tough one. Hmmm...

1 & 2. Harry Potter books 3 and 7 (my favs)
3. Eclipse
4. War and Peace (I'll definitely have the time)
5. The Giver by Lois Lowry (old fav)
6. Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta (can read this again and again)
7. Teach-yourself-Japanese (I'll have the time)
8. Teach-yourself-Russian (I really want to learn this language too)
9. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls (old fav)
10. The Scriptures

  4. Hi, Alison. Old follower dropping in to check out your list. If I had to, I would sneak Harry Potter in with all the rest. I could read those books over and over for years but couldn't bear to bring just one or two. Hope you have a good Friday.

You wanna learn Russian? WOW! I could help a bit, I had to study it in primary school :) I still remember some!

  12. Seeing a lot of selective HP novels! For me I would want the whole set, but since that's too many books I had to let those go.

    Here's my Friday Hops

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  14. Old follower hopping by! I didn't think of language-learning books, but that's a great idea! Why not while away the time learning new languages?-- it would probably keep you entertained longer than even your favorite books. I'd have to go with French and German, because my dream is to live in Europe, but Japanese would be cool as well. Anyway, have an awesome weekend and happy reading! :)

  15. That's amazing that you would try to learn some languages. This was hard as I wanted to keep so many. Happy weekend.

  16. Wow good for you trying to teach yourself those languages! I'm language challenged, I took 4 years of Spanish and can pretty much only say "hi' and "thanks":) I still need to read Jellicoe Road too, I'll get there one day! Have a great weekend Alison:)

  17. I didn't think about only picking two Harry Potter books. I would pick 3 and 7 too. I'm so OCD about reading books in a series in order that I don't think I could just pick two books and that severely limits my choices if I take all seven Harry Potter books, lol.

  18. This is the first blog I've seen who'd take language books with! That's awesome! I didn't think about that - you might as well do something useful too! (Besides reading you can actually learn languages). I'm studying German at the moment (that would be my 7th language).

Come and take a look of my 10 books: http://www.ingasilbergbooks.com/2011/04/friday-blog-hopping-3.html
