Questions of the Week:

Blog Hop: When did you realize reading was your passion and a truly important part of your life?

Books have been an important part of my life since I was in second grade, but in middle and high school it was just an enjoyment, not a passion. I didn't really get back into the reading obsession until I was in college. It's just grown from there. Every year, it seems like I read more books and get more excited about them.

Follow Friday: In light of the Summer Solstice. Also known as Midsummer...let's talk about fairies. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fae?

Probably my favorite is Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series. I also really enjoyed Lament by Maggie Stiefvater. I'm almost done with the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning and that's lots of fun too. Oh, I also really like the Wings series by Aprilynne Pike - irritated that Miley Cyrus is signed for the movie version.

  1. I haven't read the Iron Fae series yet, but I've heard great things about it. I have to check it out. I've got Wings but haven't read it yet. I think I'm scared to read it because I've heard mixed things about it.

  2. Hi & Happy Friday.

The Iron Fey series is popular this week; I have had it on my TBR pile for a while now. The Fever series is my all time favorite.

  3. Old follower! I hadn't even realized there was going to be a movie version of Wings! I'll be interested to see how Miley does with it.

  4. I am generally irritated any time Miley Cyrus gets a movie role...but for a book I like, that's unforgivable. She ruined The Last Song for me.

I have the Iron Fey and Fever series on my TBR. I just finished Lament and loved it.

  5. I read all of Maggie Stiefvater's books except for Lament...wonder if it's as good as Shiver!

  15. Hi, Alison! It's me again, just dropping by as an old follower in the spirit of Follow Friday :)

Julie's Iron Fey series is definitely one of my faves! I love the way Julie makes her characters her own, and how everything your read off the page plays exactly like you'd see in a movie. Her writing style is gorgeous!

Hope you have an awesome weekend! :)

  30. Nooo, Miley Cyrus is signed for the movie version of Wings??? I guess it'll have to remain one of those books where I don't see the movie because I'm afraid that would ruin the books for me. I love the Iron Fey series, and have read the first book in KMM's Fever series, but need to read the rest.

  31. Seen Iron Fey a lot as an answer. I going to check it out. Following you through Follow Friday.

  41. I have one of Maggie's books on faeries, though which one escapes my mind at the moment. It's buried on my bookshelf and I am too lazy to dig through the books. But, I do have the Iron Fey trilogy sitting there too screaming at me to pick them up and read them and I've got to finish the Wicked Lovely series at some point. lol. Too much to read and too little time. I'm about to start reading The Faerie Ring, for which I'm excited about. :)
