In My Mailbox (10): Twilight Inspired

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren.

This is going to be a Twilight focused IMM - more inspired by the movie than the book.

But first, here are the three books I picked up from the library this week:

Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes by Chris Crutcher (for Banned Books Challenge)
Fruits Basket vol 10 by Natsuki Takaya
Finding My Voice by Maria G. Lee (for Banned Books Challenge

Now, onto Twilight...

The costuming for the Twilight Saga is one of my favorite things about the films. I especially like Bella's clothes, since I lean towards a low-key natural look.

What I really love is the jewelry.

Ever since the first film, I've been obsessed with this bracelet:

I found a similar bracelet in Mexico last year and wore it religiously for 10 months. Unfortunately, when I was on vacation in February (a Mexican cruise, ironically), I think I left the bracelet in our cabin room. I typically wore it every day, but wasn't wearing it when we left since we were going to the airport. Regardless, I haven't seen the bracelet since. :-(

Ever since I've been looking for a replacement. There are lots of cheap, poor imitations of the bracelet out there (including the "official" replica). I figured that if I was going to buy it, I wanted something nice. So last week I ordered a high quality, nearly exact replica from Etsy. It arrived in the mail on Monday. Here it is:

I'm very pleased with it. The stone is beautiful and the detailing is perfect. The stone is smaller than I thought it would be, but it matches the picture almost perfectly, so I'm not blaming the seller. The seller was also bad about responding to my e-mails. It all turned out fine, but I was irritated. From all the positive reviews he has, I think I was an anomaly. I would highly recommend this bracelet. Check out his page (he doesn't have any bracelets currently for sale, but probably will in a week or so): Kevin44043

Here is some of the other accessories from Twilight, plus replicas - It's not "In My Mailbox" but it's inspired by the arrival of my bracelet in my mailbox this week:
Love this. I might buy it some day.

  7. Glad all turned out well and you got your bracelet, it is beautiful. I know just what you mean about the 'official' merchandise, it is pretty awful.
