Waiting On Wednesday (39): Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking The Spine spotlighting upcoming releases.

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray
May 24, 2011; Scholastic Press

-I love how Libba can go from epic paranormal romance/historical fiction to contemporary fiction. Such a talented author!

From bestselling, Printz Award-winning author Libba Bray, the story of a plane of beauty pageant contestants that crashes on a desert island.

Teen beauty queens. A "Lost"-like island. Mysteries and dangers. No access to email. And the spirit of fierce, feral competition that lives underground in girls, a savage brutality that can only be revealed by a journey into the heart of non-exfoliated darkness. Oh, the horror, the horror! Only funnier. With evening gowns. And a body count. (courtesy of Goodreads)

  22. Wow! Beauty Queens sounds really good! Very interesting with the commercial breaks. I wonder how they will be like when you read it. Probably not as fun as they are with the audio.
