A Hopping I Go

It's time for the weekly book blogger hops again! A great opportunity to meet new bloggers and say hi to old favorites.

Check out the Book Blogger Hop hosted by Crazy For Books

Here's the question of the week: What book are you currently reading?

I'm Alison. My blog is now 7 weeks old!

I am currently reading Operation Redwood by S. Terrell French. Julian, a 12 year old boy, is in his evil uncle's office one day when he's sees an email addressed to his uncle, "the moron." It's from a girl who is protesting the plan to cut down ancient redwood trees next to her family's property. Robin and Julian strike up a correspondence and Julian sneaks away to her house for the summer. This starts off a whole series of adventures that I've haven't read yet.

I am also reading Kitchen Princess vol. 5 by Natsumi Ando and Miyuki Kobayashi

  3. Hey,
I'm not hopping by, I'm popping in. You commented on my post today about birdies and writing asking a question. You can e-mail me to discuss it if you want, but here's what I have to say for now.
I don't usually have crudddy writing days. Lately, I haven't been able to work on my main project, Eberheardt. It's not quite writer's block, but I just can't express my thoughts on paper. But to keep writing, I'm working on an idea/not quite story. I'm going to have a solid month without a computer thought, which may help. But this is just me. If you think you're useless for the day, I suggest trying at least a few lines of creative writing, then put it away and look back the day after. Maybe it was better than you thought? If it isn't, how much time did you lose, 5 minutes? 10?
    Happy writing,
    RR

  5. Operation Redwood sounds like a tween retelling of The Valley of the Giants by Peter B. Kyne. I'm curious to read your review to see if I should add it to my wishlist.

Happy almost Friday from California. Pussreboots.

  17. Hey, I just happened to read a comment you left on Riv Re's blog and I wanted to give you my opinion as a writer. (Even if you don't want to hear it, I felt like sharing).
On days when I feel like I'm writing crap or when my friends say they are feeling that way I usually suggest taking a break from writing or looking back at notes. If you can talk with someone who is close to you they can also usually help with making you feel better because your true friends will reassure you that what you're writing is good.
But if you really feel that what you're writing isn't good, doing something else for the time being will help.

    Happy writing,
    LReneeS

  20. Hey Alison!

I'm actually hopping by for a reason--I'm contacting bloggers I'd like to interview over at All-Consuming Books, and I wondered if you'd be interested? It's for my "Better Know a Blogger" segment for the Ultimate Reviewers Challenge and it's basically just a quick questionairre about your blog and you as a blogger.

My email is leighofthestone(at)yahoo(dot)com, if you decide you'd like to join in. :-)

This blog is now an award free zone. I just don't have time to pass on the awards as they deserve.
