BEA Books Post

Sorry for the super late BEA post. I had to wait until one last box of books arrived. Then I went out of town immediately, so I haven't had time to post this until today.

BEA was, as always, a rich source of new books. I'm so excited about all of these. I've read a few so far and really enjoyed them.

Here they are:

I was lucky enough to go to Little Brown's blogger lunch on Wednesday. They shipped all these books to my house so I didn't have to bring them home with me. I'm excited about all, but especially Wildlife and Famous In Love.

I've already read Since You've Been Gone and Not In the Script. Both were fabulous! I just started Queen of the Tearling. I've owned The Giver for many years, but this one I got autographed by Lois Lowry. I was so excited! Rain Reign was autographed by Ann M. Martin - I loved meeting her.

Mortal Heart was probably the title I wanted most at BEA. I haven't read it yet, but I'm super excited. I walked into Rainbow Rowell's signing of Landline. I missed getting tickets earlier in the morning for the signing, but they happened to have a few left-over at the end of her signing time, so I got in the short line.

Gregory McGuire's signing was ticketed. I picked up a ticket on a whim, just in case I wanted it. I wasn't planning on going until I ran into someone in a line who was bemoaning the fact that she didn't get a ticket for his signing. I was planning on giving her mine, but as she described the book, I realized that it sounded really good, so I kept it. Not my most generous moment, but I did get to meet the author of Wicked!

I can't wait to see what Amy Plum comes up with post-Die For Me. Honestly, this doesn't sound like my kind of book, but I loved her first series so much.

The David Mitchell line was one of the only "grown-up" lines I waited in. I've never read a David Mitchell book, but have always aspired too. Now I'm the envy of all my literary-minded friends.

I heard that Scott Westerfeld's book Afterworlds is a take-off on Pride and Prejudice. So curious! Also really excited about Lux. I've met Jennifer Armentrout several times and still haven't read anything by her.

I got these at the Harlequin Teen Breakfast. I feel like I may have got another book there too, but I couldn't remember. :-/ I'm especially excited about Robin Talley's book.

A booth was handing out the initial issues of a bunch of comics. I picked up Sex Criminals and Saga, both of which I've heard really good things.

I also got Miranda Kenneally's Breathe Annie Breathe, which I've finished and loved but it was in the other room when I was doing my photographs. I was too lazy to go get it.

  7. Allow your hair to dry naturally as frequently as you can in order to protect it from heat damage. The combined heat from the hair dryer, straightening iron, and straightening iron can take a major toll on the hair and scalp.
