Birthday Giveaway: $30 Amazon Gift Card

On September 24, I turned 30 years old. Geez, that feels old. Ugh. Suffice it to say, I'm not overly thrilled about leaving the decade of the twenties (although it certainly is better than the alternative).

Thankfully, I had a lovely birthday. The Rift Walker by Clay and Susan Griffith arrived for me at the library. I spent much of the day at the mall where I found a fabulous dress on sale at Anthropologie. My husband and I went out for a delicious dinner. But still...30 sounds so different than 29. I keep looking at the mirror to see if any wrinkles or gray hair magically appeared over night. None, luckily.

Fear not my quibbles about turning 30. My heightened age is going to benefit you. I am giving away a $30 Amazon gift card!!

(The giveaway is open only to Americans. However, if any of you know of a way for me to easily e-mail gift cards to Canadians or beyond, please let me know and I'll look into changing the rules)

  5. ¡Feliz cumpleaños, Alison!

The only thing that made turning 30 bearable for me was that I was in London at the time. LOL

Two years into it and I've got to say, it's not so bad. :)

Glad you had a lovely day. Here is to many, many more.

  13. Happy birthday! You're young! I'm three, almost four years your senior. So, if you're old, then I'm ancient. ;)

  18. Happy Birthday ^.^ Even though I'm not 30 yet, I have white hair and wrinkles that appear overnight so you have nothing to fret about yet~~

  20. Happy Birthday, Alison! I wish I were 30, again, lol. That's a nice young age, since now I have to worry about turning 40 in 5 years.

I hope your birthday was great!

P.S. I get sad on my b-day, too, and not because of getting older. It's weird, isn't it? Good thing it only lasts for one day per year!

  21. Happy Birthday, Alison! Never fear - 30 will be great to you, I'm sure :)

  22. Happy birthday!

As for gift cards, you don't need to be an American citizen to receive the Amazon gift card. I live in Canada and I order things off of Amazon.com all the time (and .ca, and .co.uk).

  23. Happy birthday, and thanks for the giveaway!

And Jinny is right, I checked on Amazon's shipping policies (for my own giveaways), and they don't appear to have any restrictions really as far as sending something like a gift card. :D

  24. Happy Birthday!! You sound like you are turning 40/50 instead of 30. Third is awesome! I'm not there yet, but I will be soon ;) Wait for me!

  27. Hi Alison! Happy birthday! I'm nearing 30 myself, so I understand how you're feeling (I'm the oldest of my friends, as well, so I'll be the only one not still a twentysomething).

Anyway, as far as I know, Amazon can email giftcards (well, the codes), so you can send them to anyone in the world. I've never had a problem receiving one that way.

  28. What a great giveaway! 30 is looming closer for me too :-) Happy belated b-day!

  29. Happy B'day! mine's on the 5th so actually look fwd to a reason to celebrate =)
amazon electronic gcs are easily emailed. just purchase the ecard instead. i've never rcvd a physical card anyway. i get an email from amazon saying so&so has sent me a gift card, it has a id nbr that i enter to my account and Done! easier than mailing & more blogger friendly... hope it helps =)

  30. Happy Belated Birthday. The 24th is my mom's b-day too. Mine is coming up this week.

  31. Happy belated B-Day! And you are 30 years young not old. I think when you are in your 30's you finally reach that maturity of being older (taken more seriously) but still being young also (20's are bascially legal high schoolers, lots of drama still). It's a perfect in between.

    30 is the new 20 !

Happy birthday and glad you enjoyed your day.

To answer your comment Amazon.com GC CAN be used by International peeps. I have an account with them and often buy books with GC's people give me although the postage is usually a bit heavy. I am from South Africa

Another alternative is to buy through the site The Book Depository with has prices including shipping and ships to most countries worldwide.

So I have entered by filling out the form in case you change the rules.

    Thanks.
