Feature and Follow Friday #93

Welcome to the Feature & Follow

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

Our Feature -Word Spelunking

Word Spelunking

I am a twenty-something dreamer, with a love of words; mindless television shows; sarcastic humor; and orange sherbet ice cream. I'm a book geek and word nerd with a passion for YA and MG fiction. I would love to get paid for reading books all day long, while sitting on the sands of Folly Beach, but to date this job still only exists in the chaotic, yet sparkly wonderland that is my mind. As a proud, self- proclaimed T.V junkie and literature enthusiast, I spend most of my time in the world of fictional characters; a world where I have declared myself the queen and wear a glittering tiara. I am still waiting for my letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and believe I would be totally awesome at both Charms and Quidditch. To those who try to bring me down from my cloud in the sky, I have only this to say: Muggle, please. I discovered the world of book blogging a few months ago, but only recently became brave enough to start my own blog. I find that I have a lot to say about books and started blogging to find other book loving people to say these things to...and to give the people in my real life a break from my incessant book chatter. I love YA and MG lit and Lauren Myracle is my literary soulmate. Basically, I'm just a girl who loves books, loves to interact with others who love books, and wants to share that love. I just wanna smoosh everyone together in this big book lovefest and spread that love around the world.

Q: Fight! Fight! If you could have two fictional characters battle it out (preferably from books), who would they be and who do you think would win?

Let's see: I'm thinking of Ismae from Grave Mercy and Allie from Immortal Rules. Ismae is far more skilled in the art of assassination and general fighting, but Allie is street smart and determined. Not to mention a vampire. With her vampire powers, she can probably beat Isame but if Ismae was trained to assassinate vampires I bet they'd be equally matched.

Now if it was between Alice from Twilight and Allie from Immortal Rules, I think Alice would win. The whole psychic thing is hard to match.

***A few weeks ago, one of you said that she loved Elizabeth Chadwick's books. Who was that? I want to read one of her books. Which one should I start with? If you'd read Chadwick's books, please let me know which ones you like. Thanks!

Now for the Follow Fun!

With GFC going the way of the dodo bird for many bloggers, there is no better time to start following blogs via RSS feed. If you use a reader, it would be great if you followed my RSS directly.

We have a new button, so update your blogs if you are used to doing this meme!

  3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
  5. If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
  6. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
  7. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers
  8. If you're new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

  2. Allie is SUCH an awesome character! And one that has definitely stuck with me since I read the book. I'm really looking forward to meeting Ismae when I read Grave Mercy!

    Happy FF!

  3. I totally agree with you on Allie. I think with her sword and her vampire quickness, she could totally win!

    Happy FF!

  4. I disagree with your CAPTCHA tip. CAPTCHA helps stops spammers and bots from posting wrongful/spam comments that can be a distraction and turn off readers from your blog.

  8. I have not read Grave Mercy but I really enjoyed Immortal Rules. Since you think Ismae is a good contender for Allie, I am curious about Grace Mercy and will move it a few spots up on my TBR list.

  34. Hi! New follower on GFC :) And new to FF hop.

As for the battle: having not read Grave Mercy or Immortal Rules, I'd have to go with a character I know - Alice from Twilight. She'd be tough to beat.

    Have a great weekend!

  50. I think it would be hard to beat Alice in any match. Not only the physic part, but she's small and quick. It would be hard for you any who she doesn't allow to get their hands on her period. As for the other one's I haven't read those books yet so I don't have a clue either way for them.

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. Returning some of the love.
