Sometimes I lost track of what was happening. Still, I loved reading about Mattie, and A Northern Light is 1 of only 3 books that has *almost* made me cry. I have to be in the right mood for a certain type of book, and if I'm not, it's a struggle to get through, so I completely understand your reaction to this one. The dozen plot points gives me pause, that is definitely a lot to try and deal with in a single novel. I really was really surprised how much I loved "A Northern Light". I avoided this book because of its cover and thought it would be a really boring book, but I was glad to be proved wrong. I thought Mattie was a wonderful, strong female character who tried to balance what was expected of her but also wanting to follow her heart. I loved how she desired to be a writer and the vocab words for each of her chapter added an additional layer to the story. I got swept away and didn't think the pace was off.Rummanah Aasihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12119402559076729383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1798065526948874468.post-35982675202923771832012-02-02T06:56:32.656-06:002012-02-02T06:56:32.656-06:00Since I loved "An American Tragedy" and ...Since I loved "An American Tragedy" and the film, "A Place in the Sun," I'll most likely read this one.
